NICHOLAS DEITCH is a writer, architect, and advocate for social justice whose fiction explores the intersection of cities, history, and human resilience. He has honed his craft, publishing short stories in Litro Magazine, Club Plum, Santa Barbara Literary Journal, and The Southern California Writers Association Anthology of Short Stories. His short story Grace Eternal won Best Fiction at the Santa Barbara Writers Conference (2019).

His upcoming book, The Boatman in the Shadows, (Nolita Press, 2026), gathers twelve stories set at the fragile threshold between the visible world and the one that waits in the luminous shadows just beyond.

His novel, Death and Life in the City of Dreams (Acorn Publishing, April, 2026), is a multi-generational work of literary eco-fiction exploring the life and tribulations of an American city across 150 years.

Originally from Los Angeles, Nicholas now lives in Ventura, California, with his wife and creative partner Diana.
